We knew that we would have lots of billowing capes and flags and whatnot in the movie, so how to
do the animation? Below are two takes on it.
The live footage is converted into black and white shadows and superimposed on top of a cape or
flag that is then morphed to fit the shape in the video. While not entirely unsuccessful, both
methods proved labour intensive and the results not all that great. Also the prospect of having to
film live video as a base for the cloth in most of our scenes seemed rather daunting..
